China’s Daqing restarts cracker, PE units

SHANGHAI(ICIS news)--China-based Daqing Petrochemical, a PetroChina subsidiary, has restarted its 300,000 tonne/year cracker and two polyethylene(PE) units in the northeastern Chinese province of Heilongjiang after a scheduled turnaround in early September, a company source said on Thursday.

 

“The cracker restarted on 9 September, and it is running normally,” the source said.

 

The derivative units, including a 200,000 tonne/year low density polyethylene (LDPE) unit and one 80,000 tonne/year high density polyethylene (HDPE) line were also restarted yesterday.

 

Daqing Petrochem's 100,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) plant remained off line, with the restart expected around mid-September.
