NEW DELHI (ICIS news)--India’s Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL) and Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd (SRSL) plan to form an ethanol joint venture, the companies said on Thursday.

The pair had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to set up an integrated sugar-cum-ethanol complex in Maharashtra, they said.

SRSL is aggressively pursuing biofuels business opportunities at home and abroad. It has made three sugar-ethanol acquisitions in Maharashtra alone since 2007.
