SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--China's Lanzhou Petrochemical plans to restart its 460,000 tonne/year No 2 cracker on 20 September after it shut down last Tuesday on a sudden technical issue, a company source said on Tuesday.
Restart dates for its related downstream units, including a 300,000 tonne/year linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE)/high density PE (HDPE) swing plant, a 200,000 tonne/year low density PE (LDPE) and a 300,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) line, have still not been fixed.
The company’s No 1 and No 2 crackers together with its downstream facilities are located in northwestern Gansu
PetroChina subsidiary Lanzhou Petrochemical also has no benzene, toluene and xylene (BTX) products to supply to the market, as its 400,000 tonne/year aromatics complex is still shut down and it has low inventory levels in place.
“We hope it can run normally after the cracker restarts,” said the source.
The aromatics complex has a capacity of 160,000 tonne/year of benzene, 130,000 tonne/year of toluene and 110,000 tonne/year of xylene.
