TORONTO (ICIS news)--AkzoNobel Polymer Chemicals has declared force majeure (FM) on its metal alkyl products due to the impact of Hurricane Ike on its production site in Texas, it said on Tuesday.
The hurricane had affected availability of raw materials, utilities and labour at Akzo’s Battleground (
“A formal volume allocation programme will be implemented,” said Karl Schoene, Akzo’s vice president of organometallic specialties.
“We will keep our customers informed as we work to restore normal operations to our Battleground site.”
Chicago-based AkzoNobel Polymer Chemicals is part of Dutch chemicals and coatings major AkzoNobel.
