HOUSTON (ICIS news)--As a labour strike at three of its plants appeared set to enter its seventh week, PotashCorp has no talks planned with the United Steelworkers union, a company spokesperson said on Wednesday.
There were no negotiations scheduled between Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan (PotashCorp) and the union, company spokesperson Rhonda Speiss said.
About 500 labourers have been on strike since 7 August at the company’s 2m tonne/year plant in Allan, 800,000 tonne/year plant in Cory and its 300,000 tonne/year plant in Patience Lake.
Since then, Cory has remained shut down and management from the three sites have been pooled together to operate Allan at half capacity.
Patience Lake remained under a scheduled shut own and wasl set to come online 4 October, Speiss said.
