SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--South Korean high density polyethylene (HDPE) producer Daelim Industrial is considering the option of cutting production at its No 1 and No 2 plants in Yeosu by the end of September due to weak demand, a source close to the company source said on Thursday.?xml:namespace>
“It may cut production if export demand doesn’t improve by end [of] September but this is not confirmed yet,” the source said.
Daelim’s No 1 HDPE line with a 130,000 tonne/year capacity was producing blow moulding grade for large containers and its No 2 HDPE unit with the same capacity was producing blow moulding grade for small containers, he said.
Its No 3 HDPE line with a 140,000 tonne/year capacity was producing pipe grade, he added.
