SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Iran’s Arya Sasol Petrochemical and Jam Petrochemical shut down their crackers for seven-to-10 days of maintenance this week, a source close to both companies said on Thursday.
Arya Sasol – a joint venture of state-owned National Petrochemical Co (NPC) and South African chemicals giant Sasol – runs a 1m tonne/year cracker in Assaluyeh.
Jam Petrochemical, which is wholly owned by NPC, operates a 1.32m tonne/year facility at the same site.
"We are currently focusing on fulfilling contractual deliveries," said the source
Any surplus ethylene would likely be sold via tender through NPC’s trading arm, Iran Petrochemical Commercial Co (IPCC), the source added.
