HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Motiva has declared force majeure (FM) on all grades of Group II and II+ base oils from its Port Arthur refinery in Texas, the company said on Tuesday.
“Due to the impacts of hurricanes Gustav and Ike, which have severely affected production and transportation, Motiva Enterprises advised customers that it was declaring FM under its contracts for all grades of Group II and Group II+ base oils,” spokeswoman Robin Lebovitz said.
Motiva is the largest US Group II base oils producer with more than 40,000 bbl/day of nameplate capacity, according to the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association (NPRA).
