Russia's 8-month PE output up 7.5%, PS, PP fall

MOSCOW (ICIS news)--Russia produced 853,200 tonnes of polyethylene in January-August 2008, 7.5% up on the same period a year earlier, the Industry and Trade Ministry said in a statement released Wednesday.

The country's eight-month polystyrene output reached 174,000 tonnes, 4.9% down on the year-earlier period, the statement said.

Russia's year-to-date overall production of polypropylene amounted to 335,600 tonnes, a decrease of 10.3% on the first eight months of 2007, according to the statement.
