Dow lifts FM on BD at Terneuzen in Netherlands

LONDON (ICIS news)--Dow Europe has lifted the force majeure on butadiene (BD)  from its Terneuzen, Netherlands, unit, a company source said on Wednesday.

“Both Terneuzen BD plants are operating,” the source said

Force majeure had been in place since late June, following some technical hiccups which affected production rates at the site.

Dow operates two BD extraction units in Terneuzen and production issues earlier in the year also resulted in a force majeure declaration.

Dow’s Terneuzen BD capacity was rated at 180,000 tonnes/year, according to ICIS plants and projects. It also produces BD at Boehlen in Germany.
