MOSCOW (ICIS news)--Russia's Uralkali produced 3.59m tonnes of potash in January-August 2008, an increase of 5.7% on the same period last year, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
Year on year, Uralkali increased potash output in August by 3.8% to 452,000 tonnes, it said.
Based at Berezniki in the Perm region in the Urals, Uralkali exports more than three quarters of its potash output.
Earlier this month, Russia's Silvinit announced 3.84m tonnes of potash output in January-August, a rise of 3.6% on the year-earlier period.
Silvinit, based in Solikamsk, also in the Perm region, exports about 80% of its output.
