MONTE CARLO (ICIS news)--Anglo-Dutch oil major Shell is planning a multi-year investment in chemicals at four refinery and petrochemicals locations in the US Gulf region, the global head of base chemicals Graham van’t Hoff said on Sunday.

The investments were part of Shell’s ongoing plans for greater refinery and petrochemicals integration, he said but did not disclose the exact figures or projects involved in the investments.  
“We are increasingly integrating more closely, we are more and more inter-related,” Van’t Hoff said.
Shell Chemical Deer Park is part of a joint oil refinery and chemicals site which has 1.4m tonnes of ethylene capacity.
