Belarus' Grodno Azot doubles methyl ether capacity

MOSCOW (ICIS news)--Belarus fertilizer producer Grodno Azot has doubled its methyl ether capacity to 10,000 tonnes/year, the company said on Tuesday.

The producer launched its first 5,000 tonnes/year methyl ether unit and started biodiesel production at the Grodno plant in late 2007, it said in a statement.

Grodno Azot aims to raise its methyl ether capacity up 60,000 tonnes/year eventually, according to the statement.

In January-August 2008, Grodno Azot produced 56,300 tonnes of mixed biodiesel and plans to produce 100,000 tonnes this year, according to the company.
