TORONTO (ICIS news)--Stolt-Nielsen has reached an agreement with Canada’s Competition Bureau to resolve an inquiry into alleged anticompetitive activity by the company in the supply of parcel tanker shipping services, the chemical shipper said on Tuesday.
Stolt-Nielsen said it consented to a prohibition order by the Federal Court of Canada that required certain ongoing compliance measures and it agreed to pay Canadian dollars (C$) 200,000 ($190,500) towards the cost of the investigation.
However, the company would not be charged with an offence and had not admitted to any violations of Canadian competition law, it said.
