LONDON (ICIS news)--Werner Fuhrmann has been named chairman of European chlor-alkali trade association Eurochlor, the Brussels-based organisation said on Thursday.

Fuhrmann, who is president of Akzo Nobel’s base chemicals unit, has been a member of Eurochlor’s management committee since mid-2005.

He is also a member of the executive committee of  the Netherlands Chemical Industry Association (VNCI), where he was elected vice-chairman in June.

Fuhrmann, who succeeds Vinnolit’s Michael Winhold, had already been nominated co-chairman in March 2008, said Eurochlor.
