LONDON (ICIS news)--Solutia shut down its ethyl acetate (etac) unit in Antwerp, Belgium, as planned on 26 September, a company source said on Thursday.

The unit, with a nameplate capacity of 14,000 tonnes/year, would undergo routine maintenance, the source added.

The re-start is scheduled for 16 October.

All contractual and regular customer obligations would be fulfilled, said the source.

Meanwhile, INEOS’ ethyl acetate unit in Hull, UK, was nearing the end of its four to five week outage at its 245,000 tonnes/year plant.
