PRAGUE (ICIS news)--Poland's second largest fertilizer producer Zaklady Chemiczne Police (ZchP) has agreed a zloty (Zl) 54.8m ($22.6m, €16.2m) ammonia supply contract to Yara Switzerland, it said on Thursday.

The value of contracts concluded with Yara from May to October this year now totalled Zl118.6m, ZchP added, while declining to disclose the tonnage of the ammonia deal.

ZchP, also a titanium dioxide (TiO2) producer, also announced a Zl37m investment in equipment modernisation at its plants, including the installation of a turbine control system in its thermal power generation facility.

The company on Wednesday confirmed its first-half net profit as Zl252.8m on sales of Zl1.49bn, compared with net profit of Zl65.4m on sales of Zl1.48m in the same period of last year, on surging worldwide demand for fertilizers.
