LONDON (ICIS news)--Vopak has bought an ExxonMobil terminal in South Wilmington, North Carolina, the company said on Friday.

No financial details were disclosed.

“Through this acquisition Vopak is able to expand its storage capacity in the port of Wilmington, which is an important location on the east coast of the US for the distribution of fuels,” said Vopak.

The terminal, which will be named Vopak Terminal Wilmington South, would be Vopak’s second terminal in this port, it said.

It currently operated approximately 50,000 cubic meters (313,000 barrels) of storage capacity, which could be increased considerably in the future, the company said.

The terminal, which has been operated by Vopak since 1991, is located on the east bank of the Cape Fear river and serves as a storage facility for oil and chemical products.

Dutch Royal Vopak is an independent tank terminal operator specialising in the storage and handling of liquid and gaseous chemical and oil products.
