TOKYO (ICIS news)--Japan’s resin compound maker Plas Tech said on Friday it plans to purchase the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) business of Denki Kagaku Kogyo (Denka) for an undisclosed amount.

The company had decided to buy the business unit to explore new products, applications and a new range of customers in order to expand its existing PVC compounding business, the company added

The two chemical producers were scheduled to sign a contract on 1 November and transfer the business segment on 1 January, Plas Tech said.

Plas Tech was examining the impact the purchase might have on its current business results, it added.
