LONDON (ICIS news)--The October European styrene truck contract reference price (CRP) settled down by €88/tonne ($121/tonne) from September, a major producer said on Monday.
“We have settled our October CRP at €1,162/tonne ($1,592/tonne) with five consumers”, the source said.
The September CRP was settled at €1,250/tonne FCA (free carrier) Rotterdam.
Confirmation from the buyer’s side was not yet available but one trader said “this will make consumers very happy.”
Three barge styrene contracts are usually settled publicly, followed by an FCA CRP contract, often in line with upstream benzene.
The October spot price for styrene, meanwhile, was assessed lower on Monday afternoon at $1,330-1,350/tonne FOB (free on board) Rotterdam, by global chemical intelligence service ICIS pricing.
Monthly truck contracts are settled on an FCA
