Yuzhny urea exports up over 90,000t in September

LONDON (ICIS news)--September shipments of urea from Ukraine’s Black Sea port of Yuzhny totalled 235,170 tonnes, up over 90,000 tonnes from August after Indian buyers stepped into the market, customs data showed on Tuesday.

 

Shipments of Ukrainian urea were 225,813 tonnes in September, up from 138,475 tonnes in August, while Russian exports totalled 9,356 tonnes, up from 5,111 tonnes in August.

 

MMTC closed its long awaited tender on 3 September, which saw the buyer booking 500,000 tonnes and shipments to India over 100,000 tonnes higher in September than in August.

 

September urea shipments from Yuzhny to India reached 187,485 tonnes, up from 83,254 tonnes in September.

 

Other export destinations during September were Brazil (28,000 tonnes), Tanzania (10,999 tonnes), Italy (5,527 tonnes) and Turkey (3,159 tonnes).

 

The Black Sea port of Yuzhny is a major shipping terminal for urea and other fertilizers.
