SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--China’s Tianjin Petrochemical plans to restart operations at its 340,000 tonne/year purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant in the second half of October after a one-month turnaround, said a company source on Thursday.
The unit was shut down in late September due to maintenance at its upstream 410,000 tonne/year paraxylene (PX) plant, added the source.
“We expect to restart the PX and its downstream PTA plants in late October if everything goes well,” the source said.
