SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Thailand's petrochemical major IRPC is considering shutting down its 350,000 tonne/year cracker unit in Rayong next month if downstream demand remains poor, a source close to the company said on Friday.
"There is a possibility the cracker might be shut for 1-2 weeks from the beginning of November if orders from the polymer businesses are too low," the source said.
The cracker currently operates at 75% rates.
