SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--Fujian Refining will start up its joint-venture (JV) aromatics complex located at Quanzhou city in the southern Chinese province of Fujian, in the coming two months, said a company source on Tuesday.
The post-construction regulatory checks, originally slated for September, will start this month instead, added the source.
The unit is expected to have a capacity of 260,000 tonnes/year of benzene and 700,000 tonne/year of paraxylene (PX) with toulene and xylene being by-products.
Fujian Refining, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sinopec, owns 50% of the JV, while ExxonMobil and Saudi Aramco hold 25% stakes each.
