Corn pulls fert stocks down 12-21% in US trading

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Shares of some of North America’s biggest fertilizer companies lost on Wednesday 12-21% on the New York Stock Exchange, driven down by cheaper corn prices and overall economic gloom.

Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan (PotashCorp) lost $21.15/share (€15.44/share), or nearly 22%, to close at $76.85/share.

Agrium lost $5.98/share, or nearly 15%, to close at $34.27/share.

Mosaic lost $5.37/share, or nearly 14%, to close at $33.88/share.

Shares of CF Industries fell $8.21/share, or nearly 13%, to close at $55.96/share.
