HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US cumene prices tumbled another 7% on Friday as feedstock propylene and benzene prices fell, players confirmed.

The October formula-based cumene price fell by just over 4 cents/lb ($88/tonne, €65/tonne) from September to 59.22-59.61 cents/lb, according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.

US cumene contract prices for September previously dropped nearly 10% when feedstock propylene (C3) values took a nose dive.

The cumene formula price is based on the prices of refinery grade propylene (RGP) and benzene.

RGP was assessed at 50-51 cents/lb for October, down 5.5-7.0 cents from September.

The US October benzene contract settled at $4.24, down 22 cents from September.

Cumene suppliers include Flint Hills Resources, Georgia Gulf, INEOS, Sunoco, Blue Island Phenol and Shell.
