US truck acetone falls a further $110/tonne

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Acetone truck prices in the US solvent and distributor market tumbled another 5 US cents/lb ($110/tonne, €88/tonne) this month as demand weakened and feedstock costs plummeted, distributors and buyers said on Monday.

Sellers had lowered prices by 5 cents/lb during the first week of October, a distributor said.

Second-half October truck acetone was assessed at 81-83 cents/lb DEL (delivered) prior to discounts, according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing

US acetone sellers include Sunoco, Shell, Ineos, Dow, Georgia Gulf and JLM.
