LONDON (ICIS news)--The European October paraxylene contract has been settled down €95/tonne ($122/tonne) from September at €740/tonne, market participants confirmed on Thursday.
The contract, settled on a free delivered (FD) northwest Europe (NWE) basis, was down from €835/tonne FD NWE in September.
Weak demand and falling upstream prices were attributed as drivers for the steep drop.
