SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Korea Petrochemical Industry Co (KPIC) has further reduced the operating rate at its 460,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker in Onsan to around 80% due to poor economics, a company source said on Monday.

“We cut production at the end of October,” he said, adding that the cracker was earlier running at 90% last month.

Key cracker operators in the country such as Yeocheon Naphtha Cracking Center (YNCC) and Honam Petrochemical have also announced similar cuts.
