Japan’s ISK restarts Yokkaichi TiO2 plant

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan’s Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha (ISK) is running its titanium dioxide (TiO2) facility in Yokkaichi at 100% after completing a one-month scheduled maintenance shutdown late last week, a source close to the company said on Tuesday.

  

The 160,000 tonne/year plant in central Japan was restarted slightly earlier than originally scheduled due to the smooth completion of the turnaround, he said.

 

ISK’s plant in Singapore, which has an annual capacity of at least 54,000 tonnes, was running as usual during this period.

 

The producer had recently achieved TiO2 price hikes of around $150/tonne for the fourth quarter in Asia after initially nominating a $200/tonne increase, he added.
