SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Neste Oil’s Porvoo refinery in Finland has been brought back on stream and is operating at 100% following a fire that broke out last week in the alkylation unit , said a top company official on Tuesday.
“It was lucky that it was a minor incident. One person was hurt a little bit, his face was slightly inflamed but nothing serious as he is already back to work,” said Jarmo Honkamaa, deputy CEO and executive vice president at the sidelines of the Singapore Energy Conference.
“It was an unfortunate thing but luckily nothing more serious than that,” he added without elaborating on the volume of the production loss arising from the incident.
The Porvoo refinery processes more than 200,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
The Singapore Energy Conference runs through the 3-4 November.
