TORONTO (ICIS news)--Vopak is planning a liquid-bulk chemical, oil and vegetable-oil products storage terminal to serve the greater Istanbul area, the Netherlands-based chemical logistics major said on Friday.

It did not disclose capacities, timelines or costs.

To implement the project, Vopak had acquired a Turkish company whose principal asset was a 26 hectare industrial plot off the Marmara sea, it said.

“The industry around the Sea of Marmara is developing rapidly, and major customers of Vopak have expressed an interest in utilising independent storage facilities in this area,” it said.
