LONDON (ICIS news)--Spain's Interquisa is undergoing an isophthalic acid campaign at one of its purified terephthalic acid (PTA) units in San Roque, Spain, until at least the end of November, a company source said on Wednesday.
“[The campaign] will run until the end of November, but we may decide to extend it,” the source said in Spanish, adding that it would depend on the campaign’s success.
The 350,000 tonne/year unit normally produces PTA alongside its other plant, which has a nameplate capacity of 350,000 tonnes/year of PTA and 100,000 tonnes/year of isophthalic acid.
“There is no demand, so there has been no influence on the [PTA] market,” the source said.
