SINGAPORE (ICIS news)—South Korean aromatics producer, Honam Petrochemical, is running its benzene, toluene and solvent-grade xylene (BTX) unit at reduced rates of 70-80% due to poor market conditions, said a company source late on Thursday.
Operating rates at the Yeosu-based unit had been slashed from October, he said.
The plant produces about 180,000 tonnes of benzene, 80,000 tonnes of toluene and 55,000 tonnes of solvent-grade xylene per annum.
