US granular urea falls $25-30 on weak demand

LONDON (ICIS news)--US granular urea prices dropped $25-30/short ton (€20-24/short ton) on the back of lacklustre demand, traders said on Thursday.

Granular urea barge prices were traded at $245/short ton FOB (free on board) Nola (New Orleans), down from $270-275/short ton FOB Nola at the end of last week.

Competition between producers and the lack of demand for fertilizers including urea was the primary reason for the falling numbers.
