HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Sunoco has shut down its polypropylene (PP) plant in Bayport, Texas, for inventory control and maintenance, a company spokesman said on Monday.
“At this point, we have no current plans to shut down the facility permanently,” said spokesman Thomas Golembeski.
Details of the shutdown duration and the plant’s product portfolio were not made available, although flaring related to the shutdown was scheduled to begin on 23 November, according to a public regulatory filing by the company.
The plant has PP capacity of 440m lb/year (around 200,000 tonnes/year), Golembeski said.
