Linde breaks ground on China Changzhou project

TORONTO (ICIS news)--Linde has started construction on a 15,000 normal cubic metre/hour nitrogen generator at the Changzhou National Hi-tech District in China’s eastern Jiangsu province, the German industrial gases major said on Tuesday.

 

The €15m ($19m) project was expected to start supplying industrial companies via a 20-kilometre pipeline supply network by the third quarter of 2009, the company said.

 

“Linde is a long-term partner in the industrial expansion and growth of Jiangsu province, having established several gas supply schemes in major industrial hubs here,” said Steven Fang, head of Linde's Greater China regional business unit.

 

Linde has gas supply projects in the Suzhou New District, Suzhou Industrial Park, Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone, Wuxi New Development Zone, and Zhangjiagang Chemical Park, it said.

 

To date, the company had invested €70m in gas supply projects in Jiangsu province, it said.
