HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Initial US benzene contracts for December settled at $1.07/gal, a drop of 53 cents or 33% from November’s contract price, market participants said on Wednesday.

The December contract settlement was the latest in a string of record moves that has seen prices lose 76% in the three months since September’s record-high settlement at $4.46/gal FOB (free on board) USG (US Gulf), according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.
