NOON SNAPSHOT - Asia Markets Summary

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Here is Thursday’s mid-day Asia oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.

 

CRUDE: January WTI $53.40/bbl down $1.04 January BRENT $52.90/bbl down $1.02

 

Crude futures fell by more than $1/bbl on Thursday, as demand worries resurfaced. This follows a gain of around 7% the previous day generated by a rally in the stock market.

 

NAPHTHA: Asian naphtha prices opened firmer Thursday. First half January price indications were pegged at $324.50-327.50/tonne CFR (cost and freight) Japan, second half January at $324.50-327.50/tonne CFR Japan and first half February at $327.50-330.50/tonne CFR Japan.

 

BENZENE: Prices remained at $325-330/tonne FOB (free on board) Korea on Thursday morning as no buy-sell indications surfaced.

 

TOLUENE: Prices were largely stable at $400-415/tonne FOB Korea with buying ideas heard for December and January loading at $400/tonne FOB Korea. No sellers showed interest.
