PRAGUE (ICIS news)--Spolchemie is set to begin trial production of a new unit that will retrieve polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin from used PET soft drink bottles, the Czech synthetic resins producer said on Thursday.

Pilot production of the 13,000 tonne/year facility would start in coming days, the company added.
Construction work on the koruna (Kc) 70m (€2.78m/$3.58m) project, at the company's site in Usti nad Labem in the north of the Czech Republic, started this year in May.
