The company said it required 18,000 tonnes of acetic acid, an intermediate for purified terephthalic acid (PTA) that is produced at its aromatics complex at Panipat, in Haryana state.
The last date for the submission of bids is 30 December, the company said.
Prospective bidders would have to keep their offers valid for staggered delivery for one year from the date of supply of the first parcel, the company said.
IOC said its monthly requirement of the product would be about 2,500 tonnes, and the selected bidder would have to supply within 15 days of award by the company.
The Panipat aromatics complex has a production capacity of 550,000 tonnes/year of PTA, 360,000 tonnes/year of paraxylene and 20,000 tonnes/year of benzene.
