INEOS shuts down Texas cumene plant

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--INEOS Phenol will shut down its Port Arthur cumene unit in Texas for maintenance, according to a public filing on Monday.

The shutdown, which was scheduled to extend from 1-12 December, will address quality issues with the reactor catalyst, INEOS Phenol said in a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

INEOS Phenol was not immediately available to comment.

The Port Arthur cumene plant has a capacity of 500,000 tonnes/year, according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.
