HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US specialty chemicals maker Cytec Industries will relocate its monomer operations in Pampa, Texas, to its North Augusta plant in South Carolina in 2009, the company said on Thursday.
The move will help ensure continuous supply of monomers to customers in the Americas, Cytec said in a statement.
Cytec leases the land at Pampa, according to the company's annual report.
Cytec's move comes as an older monomer production unit at the Pampa site is closed by Celanese. Celanese, in turn, is closing the site after it agreed to sell it to Babcock & Brown, an Australian investment firm involved in energy projects.
