DuPont shuts Texas vinyls unit for stock control

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--DuPont has begun to shut down its vinyls unit in La Porte, Texas, for inventory control, the company said on Friday.

The unit will be off line for several weeks, said a company official, who declined to provide further details.

DuPont produces polytetramethylene ether glycol PTMEG intermediates, Elvanol® polyvinyl alcohol resins, crop protection and fluorochemicals in La Porte, according to information on its website.
