NOON SNAPSHOT - Americas Markets Summary

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Here is Friday’s mid-day Americas oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.

CRUDE: January WTI: $41.61, down $2.06; January Brent: $40.12, down $2.16
Crude prices continued to fall in response to a negative jobs report which triggered a sell-off in the stock market. WTI sank towards 4-year lows, bottoming out at $40.85/bbl before rebounding.

NATURAL GAS: $5.759/m Btu, down 25.8 cents
Natural gas prices fell as energy markets responded to a report showing more than half a million US jobs were cut in November.

RBOB: $0.9285/gal, down 4.1 cents
Reformulated gasoline blendstock for oxygenate blending (RBOB) slipped lower as crude prices declined.

BENZENE: Spot barges were talked lower for the 40th consecutive day, as benzene bids retreated below 70 cents/gal FOB USG compared with a notional range of 74-80 cents/gal a day earlier.

ETHYLENE: US ethylene for December traded at 15.25 cents/lb on Friday, down from deals done at 16.50-17.00 cents/lb on Tuesday.

PROPYLENE: A refinery-grade propylene (RGP) bid was heard at 11.50 cents/lb on Friday. RGP last traded at 12.25 cents/lb on 2 December.
