TOKYO (ICIS news)--Japan’s Asahi Kasei will consolidate its electrochemical operations into its wholly owned subsidiary Asahi Kasei E-Materials, the company said on Wednesday.
The move was to strengthen the electrochemical business by enabling strategic decision-making and resource loading, the company said.
Asahi Kasei E-Materials would start operating as a new company on 1 April 2009, but the name would remain the same, Asahi Kasei said.
The restructuring of the businesses would not affect Asahi Kasei’s financial results, it said.
Asahi Kasei’s electrochemical business includes display materials and other chemical-based materials for electronics applications.
It is currently operated by Asahi Kasei Chemicals and Asahi Kasei Electronics.
