AkzoNobel gets green light for China ethylene amine plant

LONDON (ICIS news)--AkzoNobel received permission from the Chinese authorities to build a world-scale ethylene amine plant at Ningbo, due to come online in 2010, a company source said on Wednesday.

"We have been granted a business licence and it is now full steam ahead," he said.

"Demand is increasing dramatically in Asia and [this new plant] will help to support the market and [our position] as a global ethylene amine supplier," added the source.

Precise capacity details were not disclosed.
