JV plans $30m biodiesel complex in Argentina

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--A joint venture plans to build a $30m (€22m) integrated biodiesel complex in Argentina, a company executive said on Wednesday.

The joint venture, Greenfuel Argentina, will build the plant in Rosario, Santa Fe, said Ignacio Sala, biodiesel projects director for Raiser, which owns about 40% of Greenfuel Argentina.

When completed in 2010, the complex will include a 200,000 tonne/year biodiesel plant, a 9,000 tonne/year oil plant and port operations, Sala said.

“This is an integrated project for which the company will be in charge of all the aspects of the operation," Sala said.

Greenfuel Argentina is a joint venture between the Spanish producer Greenfuel and Argentine firms.
