LONDON (ICIS news)--LyondellBasell’s and Bayer’s joint venture (JV) propylene oxide (PO)/styrene monomer (SM) operations at Maasvlakte, the Netherlands, have been idled for an indefinite period on poor demand, a company source said on Thursday.
The plant, which has a rated nameplate capacity of 305,000 tonnes/year for
“Since the sharp drop in demand, it has been the right decision to idle the plant,” he said.
Staff at the site have been unaffected by the shutdown, he added.
