SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan’s Mitsui Chemicals plans to shut its 30,000 tonne/year methyl isobutyl (MIBK) plant in Iwakuni, Yamaguchi prefecture, for repairs on 26 December due to mechanical issues, a company official said on Monday.

“The plant will be shut for 10 days and restart on 5 January,” he said, adding that the shutdown was not expected to affect export sales.
